Octomino in a Green Landscape

I have now finished stitching the project featuring Brigid’s octomino. The background is mainly in four shades of green, with a bit of blue and purple to link with the octomino. You can just make out the octomino in the centre. Here is the finished piece.
I have used a wide range of stitches for the background to add a bit of texture – Milanese, jacquard, moorish, cashmere and Florence among others. The background pattern was made up as I went along. Though I worked out each little section before stitching. And of course as usual I ensured that the overall design was more or less symmetrical. Some things never change! This will be my last stitching for a few weeks. We are in Switzerland visiting Emma, so no time for stitching. Will be back later in September.
