Tulips a blooming

Bringing to a temporary end my recent fascination with tulips, I have a collection of photos of a tub of red flowered tulips by our front door.   They show the flowers emerging day by day over a seven day period.  Each photo was taken in the afternoon.  The last was taken on 27th April and they are still in glorious bloom.  Spring has finally come to Dundee.

And finally, still on tulips, here is the finished stitched piece on Tulips in a Bargello ground.  To keep it simple I have glued the piece to a lovely blue fabric which I picked up in Ruschlikon in Switzerland last year.  At the end of the week I am back to working on our panel for the Great Tapestry of Scotland.

  1. Not difficult to see why tulips caused such a frenzy in Stuart times is it – they are pretty impressive. Good luck with the Tapestry.
