Another Biscornu

Keeping with my recent theme of stitching things that have a practical use, I have just completed another of Louison‘s wonderful biscornus.    This was designed as a pendouille, no. 8 in that series.  However I used it to make a biscornu.  The finished piece is stuffed with hollow fibre and some lavender and can now be used as a lavender bag or as a pin-cushion.  This one was stitched on a spring green 18ct Aida fabric.  The threads were two strands of DMC cotton in dark golden brown and pale golden brown.  As usual I forego the traditional cross stitch for a flatter half cross stitch.  Here is the finished biscornu.

I have also added a bit to a previous project.  The candle holder wrap now has a stretch of green ribbon to finish the whole thing off.  Here it is in its full glory.

We are now about to leave to visit our daughter and grandson in Switzerland.  So no more stitching for a couple of weeks.  Though I do hope to spend a bit of time working out some designs for when I return.  Happy stitching.
