Bargello à Six – Study in Pink

I have now completed my latest Bargello project – a study in pink.  It consists of six different bargello patterns, all stitched in shades of pink or pinkish colours.

The patterns come from three different sources.  Four come from The Bargello Book by Frances Salter, one from Bargello, a Fresh Approach to Florentine Embroidery by Brenda Day, while the sixth pattern comes from Bargello Needlepoint a wonderful online site for all things Bargello.

The fabric is an 18ct Aida in Spring Green and the threads are two strands of DMC cotton.  The colours include two cyclamen pinks, a baby pink, an ultra light plum and three shades of mauve.  The frame is an old second hand IKEA frame which I had to patch up a bit and then stain with a liming wax.
